WHO WE ARE

Mission

The Thai Vacation Ownership Association (TVOA) was established to protect Thai and international vacation ownership business interests while elevating the profile of the vacation ownership industry in Thailand. TVOA serves as an advocate and resource for both consumers and operators.

TVOA is dedicated to:

  • Promoting and encouraging vacation ownership and its development in Thailand.
  • Promoting and cultivating a greater awareness and understanding of the industry amongst the public in Thailand.
  • Promoting technical knowledge, professionalism, honorable and proper products, and high ethical standards among members of the Association.
  • Establishing guidelines, rules, industry standards and codes of conduct for governing members so as to regulate and maintain a high standard of quality.
  • Promoting, protecting and safeguarding the legitimate interests of the members of the association and liaising with the government, government authorities, trade bodies and associations (public, statutory or otherwise) on all matters pertaining to the industry, including the enactment of legislation, law and policies affecting the industry, and the code of conduct for those engaged in the industry.
  • Ensuring the protection of consumers’ rights in the industry and encouraging long term development, growth and viability.
  • Providing, regulating, maintaining and enforcing a Code of Ethics amongst its members.
  • Providing an authority for the interpretation and means of enforcement of the by-laws relating to the members and the Code of Ethics.

Members

Today, TVOA includes local and international member companies and is associated with a number of related organizations including the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and American Resort Development Association (ARDA).

All TVOA Members are leaders in the industry and expected to abide by the TVOA Code of Ethics. Failure to do so will result in membership suspension or expulsion from the association.

Board

The TVOA Board is made up of delegates from participating member companies and the current TVOA President is Mr. Christopher Huie, Managing Director of Tai-Pan Hotel.
